► Prerequisite Requirements For Applicants to the MS Degree Program who do not have a BS in ► Mechanical Engineering:
| The philosophy used to establish the following criteria was that a Master's degree in ME implies that the graduate also has received prior undergraduate instruction in the design of energy systems and mechanical systems.
With this philosophy, the recommended prerequisite course requirements are as follows:
- For entrance into the MS degree programs:
- Graduates with a B.S. degree in engineering must either have or obtain an undergraduate foundation in solid mechanics and thermal sciences.
- Graduates with a B.S. degree in science must demonstrate the mastery of content of the undergraduate ME program courses up through the senior courses in mechanical systems design and energy systems design.
- Graduates with a B.S. degree in technology must first obtain a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum grade point average of 3.00/4.00 must be obtained on all prerequisite courses, and no grades below C will be accepted.
