Stephen Terry
Industrial Assessment Center, North Carolina State University
Dr. Stephen Terry is an Extension Assistant Professor with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University. He is Assistant Director of the NCSU Industrial Assessment Center, a U.S. Department of Energy funded program. As part of that program he has worked with small and medium size manufacturing plants in and around North Carolina since 1992, helping them reduce energy costs and increasing energy efficiency. He is also a DOE Steam Expert and conducts steam system assessments at manufacturing plants around the country.
Bill Moir
Steam Engineering Inc., Vancouver, WA
Mr. Moir has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University (major in power plant systems). Mr. Moir spent eight years in the U.S. Navy as a carrier pilot, aircraft maintenance officer, and power plants officer. He was the engineering manager of McCall Oil and Chemical Company for thirteen years, providing engineering services to distribution and manufacturing facilities in the Western U.S. Mr. Moir founded Steam Engineering Inc. in 1987. Steam Engineering Inc. is a consulting engineering and water treatment company. Mr. Moir has experience in all aspects of steam generation and use, including boiler fuels, combustion control systems, high temperature feed water systems, condensate recovery systems, heat recovery systems, air heaters, economizers, full condensing economizers, steam turbines, back pressure and condensing turbines, gas turbines, and pre-treatment and chemical treatment systems. Mr. Moir is registered as a Professional Mechanical Engineer in the state of Oregon. He is also a Certified Steam System Specialist and a Certified Steam System Instructor for DOE.
Jeremy Childers
Honeywell, Inc.
Mr. Childers is an alumnus of Mississippi State University with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was the field engineer for Mississippi State University’s Industrial Assessment Center for over two years. While there he oversaw over thirty industrial energy audits. He is a Qualified Specialist in Department of Energy’s PHAST, PSAT, SSAT, and Airmaster+ tools and energy expert in PSAT and PHAST. Mr. Childers is currently an engineer for Honeywell International in Building Solution division. This division handles energy engineering for commercial buildings. |
