Freshmen Students Presented at ME 1111 Service-Learning Symposium

November 25, 2014

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, ME 1111 students presented their proposals for a semester-long service-learning project.  Working in conjunction with the Center for the Advancement of Service-Learning Excellence (CASLE), ME 1111 freshmen students spent the Fall 2104 semester developing engineering design project proposals and ideas to meet several different needs in our community.

Community partners from Golden Triangle Regional Airport, Starkville Parks and Recreation, Nanih Waiya Community Park, Oktoc Animal Rescue, Starkville Public Library, MSU Extension Know Your Numbers, and MSU Extension 4-H Robotics came out to select winning designs and support the students.  Most community partners plan to implement one or more of the proposal designs presented at the Symposium this past week.  Several MSU faculty also attended to support the ME 1111 students and see all of the accomplishments from this year’s freshmen class.
