Haitham KadiriHaitham El Kadiri, an assistant professor in the department of mechanical engineering, has received funding from the National Science Foundation through the Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer Our Future Projects program.

Kadiri serves as co-principal investigator, while working alongside researchers from Georgia Tech and the University of Virginia. Their project, “Multi-Scale Modeling and Characterization of Twinning-Induced Plasticity and Fracture in Magnesium Alloys,” is one of 14 the NSF has chosen to fund.

Kadiri has been a member of the Mississippi State family since 2006 when he started as an assistant research professor at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems. He joined the mechanical engineering department in 2009.
