ME graduate students and faculty won best paper award at a conference

A paper authored by ME graduate students Amanda Sterling and Brian Torries, and ME Professors Nima Shamsaei, Scott Thompson, and Steve Daniewicz, has been recognized as one of the Best Papers for the 2015 Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium – An Additive Manufacturing Conference held in Austin, TX from August 10-12. The title of the paper is: Microstructural Sensitive Fatigue Modeling of Additively Manufactured Ti-6Al-4V.

The Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium is one of the most prestigious conferences/symposia on additive manufacturing – held in University of Texas, Austin for the past 26 years.

Only ten papers were selected for this recognition from 144 papers included in the conference proceedings. This paper will be included in a 2015 Special Issue of the Rapid Prototyping Journal, in the summer.
