ME Ph.D. student won best paper – student award

Wil Wittington, a ME Ph.D. student, and Dr. Haitham El Kadiri, ME Associate Professor, in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Virginia and McMaster University were chosen as recipients of the 2015 TMS Light Metals Magnesium Best Paper – Student Award.
This award recognizes the individual excellence of a student primary authored paper in the area of magnesium technology, published in the preceding year’s volume Magnesium Technology. The title of the paper is: “Crystal Plasticity Modeling of the Dynamic Behavior of Magnesium Alloy, WE43-T5, Plate.”
The formal presentation of the award will be in Nashville, Tennessee during the 145th TMS Annual Meeting in February of next year.
