Mechanical Properties of Materials, Materials Characterization, High
Temperature Structural Materials, Cryogenic Structural Materials
Research Summary
Dr. Schneider’s research interests concern how the microstructure
influences the mechanical properties of materials and how various
manufacturing processes affect this relationship.

Dr. Schneider is an active member of The Minerals,
Metals, and Materials Society (TMS) where she serves on the Mechanical
Behavioral Committee and the Composites Committee. She is also a member of
the American Ceramic Society (ACeS), American Society of Metals/The
Materials Society (ASM/TMS) and the American Association of University Women
(AAUW).
