Research Overview

Research interests include, but are not limited to, steel alloy design and manufacturing process optimization; next generation advanced high strength steels (AHSS) development; additive manufacturing process optimization; Martian and Lunar in-situ resource utilization (ISRU); novel metal matrix metallic composites design; bio-inspired materials and systems design; chemistry-process-structure-property-performance relations characterization; lead-free solder joints characterization, etc.  Current projects include steel alloy design, vehicle lightweighting, component tool design, and material science studies related to additive manufacturing.  Sponsors for his research include DoD, NSF, NASA, and multiple industrial partners.
